Sally Erickson
Sally Erickson currently oversees the City of Portland's Ending Homelessness Initiative, building innovative partnerships among public and private entities to develop cost-effective solutions. Sally is a passionate advocate for affordable housing and services for those with disabilities, particularly those with mental illnesses.
As Executive Director of the Council for the Homeless in Vancouver, Washington, Sally led the community's efforts to increase affordable housing. She also launched a regional initiative to provide homes and support for homeless families.
In 1995, Sally became the first director of Safe Haven, a supportive housing program for the mentally ill in Honolulu, Hawaii, that she developed in partnership with an ambitious group of colleagues. Sally earned her MSW at the University of Hawaii, and her BA at Occidental College.
