Joelle Davis

Tualatin City Council
Class of 2009

Joelle is a devoted wife and mother of two teenage daughters, runs a growing small business and serves as Co-Executive Director of the fourth largest state employee union, the Association of Engineering Employees of Oregon (AEE). A longtime resident and active community member in Tualatin, Oregon, Joelle was elected in November 2008 to the City Council. She also serves on the board of the Human Rights Council of Washington County.
Joelle's political activism began during her tenure with a statewide migrant head start program. Experiencing the positive impact created by community programs like these led Joelle to a greater understanding of the issues. Additionally, Joelle witnessed both the tough choices and great opportunities that elected officials experience -- particularly on issues she cares about including worker rights, equal rights, immigration, healthcare, education and transportation. Joelle's belief in the power of positive community involvement and participation led her to seek a more direct role herself.
Throughout her day, whether working with AEE, her business and as city councilor, Joelle feels privileged to put policy into practice on these and other important issues of the day. Joelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Linfield College, a Master of Science in Administration from California State University, and is a certified mediator.
