Carla "KC" Hanson
I have been engaged in politics at the volunteer level in various degrees of intensity throughout my adult life. My political focus has been on women's issues, GLBT activism, and election integrity issues. As my involvement with these various political issues increases, so does my capacity to take on leadership positions.
In Oregon, I have served the GLBT community through No on Hate and No on 9 in 1992, as a staff member of the No on 13 Campaign in 1994, and as a volunteer in No on 9 in 2000 and No on 36 in 2004. I was Executive Director of the Oregon Voter Rights Coalition from 2005-2007. During that short time frame we put on a national election issues summit (Oct. 2005) and spearheaded a successful drive to pass election auditing legislation (June 2007).
My focus turned to Party politics in 2007 when I became Vice Chair of the Multnomah County Democratic Party, and 7 months later was elected Chair, a position I currently hold.
