Our Candidates - 2018, Here We Come!

Dear Friends,

We are overflowing with gratitude for all the love we’ve received over the last year. It’s been busy, to say the least. We thank you for all the encouragement and support!

It’s also been an incredible year for the Emerge network nationally.

Iowa is our newest state, making our national network 24 states strong! States in orange have very active organizing committees, focused on getting the word out and raising money to hire an executive director.

Here are a few highlights specific to Oregon and a glimpse of 2018:

  • Our 2017 win rate was 79% - plus we had two additional alumnae successfully secure competitive appointments to elected positions.
  • Since our founding, 44% of our alumnae have run for office, with anoverall success rate of 66%.
  • We had over 120 women start applications for the Class of 2018. Of the 30 women we selected for our full program, 70% are from outside of Portland and 40% are women of color. Join us at our kick off event in January!
  • Finally, we are pleased to announce that, as of today, we have 30 Emerge women running in 2018! More candidates to come for the November ballot!

Take time for yourself, family and friends to get re-energized for 2018. We are going to need you!

Sincerely,
