Announcing the Emerge Oregon Class of 2018!

Dear friends,

We are excited to announce our Emerge Oregon Class of 2018!

It follows another year of unprecedented demand for our program. Over 120 women started the application process, 62 were interviewed and because the decision was so tough and the women so inspiring, we’ve decided to accept a greater number of women in our core program than we ever have before!

The 30 women listed below will offer a diverse set of personal experiences and professional backgrounds to elected office. 40% are women of color and 70% of them are from outside of Portland. We invite you to meet them next month!

Come April, we’ll announce another group of women we have invited to participate in our boot camp, a condensed version of our full program that will set these women on the right path toward elected office.

Between the two trainings, our goal is to add another 45 Emerge women to the political pipeline.

So join us on Friday, January 26th, the evening before the first training, to toast the Emerge Oregon Class of 2018.

Let’s show these women we support them, we value their commitment to serve and recognize the courage it takes to put oneself forward in the public sphere.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Jillian Schoene and Andrea Cooper, Co-Executive Directors
